Store Manager Role – Lead Premium Retail Excellence
As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for guiding your team to deliver exceptional customer service and operational performance. You will be the driving force in creating a motivated, cohesive, and inclusive retail environment, while upholding the standards and values of the Fred Perry brand. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who thrives on building strong teams and achieving ambitious goals in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities for Retail Store Manager
- Lead and motivate the store team to provide every customer with a premium retail experience, ensuring outstanding service and full brand engagement.
- Take responsibility for planning labour, managing expenses, and achieving sales and profitability targets aligned with key KPIs.
- Continuously monitor sales performance and KPIs on daily, weekly, and monthly bases, taking proactive actions to optimise results.
- Ensure all colleagues are aware of targets and support them in exceeding store goals through personalised coaching and regular performance feedback.
- Champion loss prevention and safeguarding company assets by enforcing stock control procedures, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee cash handling, banking, and store administration in compliance with the Fred Perry operations manual and audit guidelines.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines to maximise product sell-through and store appeal.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and react positively to changing business needs, collaborating closely with retail management and design teams.
- Promote and maintain full compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards at all times.
Required Experience and Skills for Retail Leadership
- Extensive experience in retail management with a proven track record in driving commercial and operational success.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, inspire motivation, and support employee development.
- Confident decision-maker with strong initiative and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Solid understanding of key retail concepts such as gross margin, markdowns, visual merchandising, KPIs, and loss prevention.
- Agile and quick to adapt to changing business and customer needs, with a positive approach to continuous improvement.
- Availability to work to the store schedule, including weekends and peak trading periods.
