PURPOSE:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in Fred Perry’s small and passionate Creative Department based in our London Head Office. As part of the Graphic Design team this role is an entry level position to work with the team on execution of the visual identity of Fred Perry across print and digital design.
The main task of the Artworker will be working with the Graphic Design and Photography team to artwork the Quarterly range brochure (the sales brochure is designed four times a year, designed in Adobe InDesign). This is a digital sales brochure which is a very important document used across the business – so requires someone with a meticulous nature to make sure the imagery, information and direction is applied throughout the design.
The role also will be responsible for the design and layout consistency of various internal presentations and external project decks using Powerpoint. So is suitable to someone who is able to apply the same attention to detail and pride to internal projects as external campaigns.
In addition to these two core-tasks, the role will involve supporting our small Graphic Design team. Supporting the Graphic Designer with artworking print ready artwork for store graphics, packaging and print advertising; and our Digital Designer with email, digital ad and web banner design work.
This is an entry level position, so we will teach and support the successful applicant as they learn the technical and operational side of the projects they work across. What we will be looking for is someone with existing design software skills (Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Powerpoint) and also strong graphic design fundamentals (typography and layout skills and who’s work demonstrates strong attention to detail)
The individual must be highly organised and able to juggle multiple projects. While showing a positive approach to work demonstrating enthusiasm, flexibility and professionalism. All while producing considered executions; that follow the design direction of the Graphics team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
DESIGN
- Artwork Fred Perry’s Quarterly Sales Brochures (using Adobe indesign)
- Support with PowerPoint Presentation design and layout - for Internal presentations and external project decks.
OTHER
- Support the Graphic Designer by artworking graphics for our global store teams and wholesale partners - for example OOH advertising, magazine artworks and window and store artworks.
- Support the digital designer in design and production of mailers, digital ads and web banners
- Selecting and cropping assets for social sizes
- Designing for internal communication - creating designs that elevate and enhance internal messaging – across print, email and internal website platforms.
- File preparation - neatly organise all creative work so it is easily located and used by Brand Team
THE PERSON
- Ability to problem solve and follow existing creative guidelines.
- Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects.
- A willingness to embrace all tasks and uphold creative standards equally – whether supporting an internally focused powerpoint presentations up to a Campaign Billboard.
- A strong communicator, with an ability to successfully timeline projects and hit deadlines
- Passion for the Menswear and Womenswear Branded market, with a knowledge of adjacent brands and niche independent retailers is a positive
- On occasion it’s required to support marketing activity at events out of office hours- ie. fashion shows and sponsored gigs and events. Attendance should be prioritised, with time in lieu offered.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- An expert level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – mainly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Powerpoint presentation design
- Knowledge on print process – the role will involve art working precisely for large format and small format print projects. As this is entry level this can be taught.
- Solid graphic design foundations: acute attention to detail, good typography skills and a strong layout/editorial eye
- Ability to reformat video sizes using Premier and/or After Effects a bonus
HOURS:
We actively encourage our teams to have a good work/life balance and so we are pleased to offer flexible working shifts at Fred Perry HQ. Our core shift hours are from 10am – 4.30pm and so employees can choose to start and finish early, or start and finish late. (i.e. work 8:00am-4:30pm, or 10:00am-6:30pm etc). We also have 30-minute early finish on Fridays.
As we continue to work in a more flexible way, the Head Office acts a brand hub, where we can all connect and collaborate with one another. This role is a mix of office based (London) and remote working. We will expect the employee to come into the office regularly for face-to-face meetings and to work alongside their team on collaborative projects.
