Product Manager

Product Manager - 9-12 months Maternity Cover to start in January 2020

You will have a min of 8 years Product Development experience, working with apparel. You will have excellent knowledge of garment construction and managing a team.

The Role

The Product Manager will be working with the biggest department here at Fred Perry. You will be managing the development process of the Fred Perry Mens and Kids range, in line with the brand strategy and targets.

  • Manage the team workload, development and career progression in the form of a yearly appraisal. 
  • Work with several areas of the business (planning, tech, sales, merch, design finance) and finding solutions to development issues while developing new ways of working etc.
  • Creating the development seasonal calendar and making sure deadlines are met
  • Deliver the new season strategy based on global analysis to the business
  • Manage product team to deliver new fabrics, new graphic techniques and trims by factory sourcing and comp shops
  • Maintain close working relationships with all suppliers to plan new season timelines 
  • Work with Buyer on the retail buy pre-retail sign off to ensure the new season stories are reflected in store as originally designed
  • Manage team to deliver on key account SMU’s and use feedback to inform on new strategy 
  • Review the supplier base and carry out costing exercises or trials with new suppliers
  • Travel to Far East and Europe when required for product and pricing meetings

  • Minimum 8-10 years Product Development experience
  • Product orientated
  • Expert knowledge of garment construction
  • Able to identify and solve any issues that might occur during the development process
  • Experience managing a team
  • Good understanding of working with Far East factories
  • Keen eye for detail, highly organised
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Illustrator skills
