Senior Product Developer - Collections

Senior Product Developer - 9-12 months Maternity Cover to start in October

You will have a min of 5 years Product Development experience, working with apparel. You will have a strong background in either Men's and/or Women's multi-product and price negotiations. 

The Role

The Senior Product Developer will be working across multiple collaborations and collections range for both Men and Women apparel. 

You will be responsible for the development of the range, taken from the Product Manager's line plan through the entire production process to salesman sample.

  • To work closely with internal and external Designers and alongside our Garment Technologists
  • Responsible for Fabric and Trim sourcing (fabrics, hardware and components) ensuring they are fit for purpose and commercially viable for the brand
  • Proto development, from Design CAD drawings and archive samples
  • Visit factories in the UK and EU when necessary to handover technical packs for proto development
  • Maintain and build excellent relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and external collaboration partners
  • To attend and actively contribute to proto fit meetings up to Red Seal stage and beyond where necessary
  • Analysing sales figures, understanding and presenting them in a clear format
  • Attend key management meetings - alongside the Product Manager, Directors and the Managing Director to discuss range planning and sign off the collection
  • Mentor to Product Development Assistant.  Along with the Product Manager, will be expected to be involved in the development of the more junior member of the team
  • Responsible for communication with external collaboration partners, including internal and external meetings

  • Good understanding of Garment construction
  • Brand awareness
  • Able to proactively manage workload accordingly, to achieve seasonal deadlines
  • Strong market knowledge
  • Previous experience with UK and EU suppliers
  • Highly organised
  • Flexible and positive approach to problem solving
  • MS Office and Adobe Illustrator skills
