Purchase Ledger Assistant

At Fred Perry Head Office, we are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our busy Finance team due to a recent departure. The ideal candidate should have an interest in Retail Fashion and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

  • Proactively manage supplier accounts in the best interest of business.
  • Process a high volume of invoices and credit notes with speed and accuracy.
  • Maintain good and regular communication with teams across the business to meet deadlines and resolve queries.
  • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes.
  • Nominal coding, matching and batching of invoices for multiple currencies.
  • Updating authorisation trackers with invoices for budget holder approval.
  • Filing of electronic invoices and statements in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all foreign VAT figures are posted correctly and providing back up documentation for VAT returns.
  • Ensuring all invoices are processed by month end deadlines.
  • Producing a list of accruals relating to supplier accounts for the Management Accounts.
  • Ad hoc duties as required
  • Invoice matching for all stock receipted into our warehouses.
  • Dealing with queries relating to unit stock prices and delivery discrepancies.
  • Liaising with the logistics team to ensure cash paid in advance is allocated on a timely basis when stock receipted on system.

About You

  • Previous experience working within purchase ledger essential.
  • Able to process at speed with great accuracy.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable and self-disciplined.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to build up relationships internally and externally.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
  • Good aptitude for Excel – V Look Ups and Pivot Tables would be an advantage
